The Objective and Thrust of the Department

Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Applied Sciences has been started at PIEAS. Now, the department has launched its MS and PhD Programs in Chemistry with following vision:

    *   Train manpower for industrial, academia, and research organizations
    *   Equip students with the advanced multidisciplinary research areas in the field of chemistry and its related areas
    *   Transfer knowledge of analytical and creative nature through extensive hands-on trainings on all major analytical equipments
    *   Impart in-depth knowledge to students to pursue research in the specific areas of chemistry as well as the other interdisciplinary research areas
    *   Groom a chemist so that he/she may be able to carry out the interdisciplinary nature of research and development projects

The Department of Chemistry consists of strong Ph.D faculty from the world renowned universities. Presently, the faculty members are pursuing research and supervising MS/PhD students in various emerging areas such as: Basic and Applied Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Chemical Technology. This rich amalgam of various disciplines at PIEAS is our strength to pursue interdisciplinary research as well.
