Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) has been ranked 106 in the top 250 Asian Universities in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking of 2014. QS, working since 1990, is an established authority on global provider of specialist higher education and careers information and solutions. PIEAS, competing for the first time in the QS Asian Rankings 2014, scored highest points amongst all the Pakistani universities participating in the ranking. It is important to mention that QS vindicated the HEC ranking of PIEAS as the number 1 University of Pakistan. The Institute has been ranked No. 1 for Engineering & Technology by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, in all the three rankings (2006, 2012, 2013) conducted so far. PIEAS has around 135 highly qualified full-time faculty members in the diverse fields of physical sciences, engineering and medicine. Eighty (80) of them have PhD degrees from the reputed institutions of USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, China, Japan, Korea, Austria and Australia. PIEAS faculty members have published more than 700 papers in international journals and have been decorated with Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Tamgha-i-Imatiaz, President’s Pride of Performance, President’s Medal for Technology, Aizaaz-e-Kamal, Aizaaz-e-Fazeelat, and Best Teacher Awards.
