DIKHAWA (ORIENTATION AND INTRODUCTORY EVENT)

The concept of this event is to present an overview of the society to the PIEASians, specially the freshmen. PPAS organized Dikhawa’11 for batch 2011-15. In this event PPAS members exhibited some outstanding Performances (Skits and Music Performances) and gave a detailed introduction to freshmen.

EXTRAVAGANZA (INTERNAL MEGA EVENT)

Extravaganza is an Intra-PIEAS competition which comprises of Dramatics, Short-Film/Documentary, Punjabi Totay and Music. PPAS has organized Four Extravaganza from years 2011-2014 in every Spring Semester. First two were Inter Departmental and other two were All PIEAS.

KALAKAR (VIDEOGRAPHY AND MUSIC EVENT)

The word “Kalakar” is from Hindi and is derived from the word Kala which means “funn” in Urdu i.e. Talent. The word itself means the one who exhibits talent. The event comprises of Music and Videography Categories. Up till Now, PPAS has organized One “Kalakar” in year 2011.

ANNUAL NIGHT (COMPRISING OF ANNUAL DRAMA)

Since the formation of PIEAS Performing Arts Society, Annual Play was one of the initial agenda of the society. This agenda was finally fulfilled after four years on Annual Night, held on 27th March 2014, one of the most successful event of the society. It included an annual play, music performance and movie night all performed exclusively by the members of the society for the sole purpose of entertaining the students of PIEAS, to encourage them to be a part of PIEAS Performing Arts Society and to attract to them to take part in this form of arts. The first ever Annual Play “QULFI” was most anticipated and met the expectations of people.

SCRIPT WRITING COMPETITION

The purpose of this event is to hunt the creative writing talent inside PIEAS and utilize it in the production section of PPAS. This event is organized in collaboration with PIEAS Literary Society. It was organized in 2011 and 2012.

PPAS EDUCATION DRIFT

PPAS has also launched an education movement named "PPAS Education Drift". The motto of this drift is ‘Unique Education’. The basic purpose of this movement is to set alight the spark in the educated people to direct their skills in true dimensions. Additionally PPAS will also try to support, help and guide those youngsters who are unable to continue their education, due to some financial or social problems.

MOVIE NIGHT (VIDEOMATICS)

PIEAS Performing Arts Society also organizes Videomatics every fortnight. Videomatics is an event in which either a long play, documentary or a movie is played in the auditorium for the students. Videomatics was approved and started in October 2010. Right now it’s the most popular and entertaining event in PIEAS.
